Arepas with Philly Cheesestake
Ingredients
- ½ lb. Deli Roast Beef or “carne picada”
- 1 chopped onion
- 1 chopped green pepper
- 2 garlic cloves
- ½ lb provolone cheese
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
In a skillet, add the olive oil and heat to medium. Add the onions and green pepper and cook for about 8 minutes. Add the garlic, salt and pepper, and cook for another minute. Now remove the mixture and add the meat. Add salt and pepper to taste and cook, flipping continuously until the meat is not pink, which should take about 4 minutes. Add the mixture back, add the cheese and let it melt. Now we take the arepas out of the oven, split them open, and stuff delicious and gluten free arepas with Philly Cheesesteak.
