The Art Of Making Arepas
Ingredients
- 2 ½ cups of water
- Salt to taste
- 2 cups of Harina P.A.N.
- Oil to grease the griddle
Directions
In a bowl, add the water and salt to taste. Slowly, add the Harina P.A.N. and mix until it turns into a thick mushy texture. Then, make balls out of this mixture (about the size of tennis balls) and turn the balls into patties. Turn your griddle on, spread a little bit of oil, and cook your arepas for 4 minutes on each side. While you wait, turn on the oven to 500 degrees. When the arepas form a crust on each side, put them in the oven for 8 minutes until they puff up! Take them out of the oven, split them open and stuff the arepas with your favorite filling!
