Arepas with Chicken & Shrimp


Ingredients

  • 2 chicken breast – cut into small pieces
  • 1 pound of medium shrimp peeled
  • ½ cup of white wine
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1 tablespoon of garlic powder
  • 3 tablespoons of oil
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • Salt, lime and pepper to taste

Directions

In a bowl, mix the chicken with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Then, cook for 4 to 5 minutes in a skillet with oil until is completely cooked. In a separate bowl, mix the shrimp with salt, pepper and lime. In the same skillet add butter and garlic, then add the shrimp and cook until it turns pink. Add wine and cook for another 5 minutes. We now take the arepas out of the oven, split them open and stuff with either chicken or shrimp. You can also add avocado and tomatoes to add some more flavor. Or if you prefer, you can have arepas with both Chicken and Shrimp!
